Nancy Brooks – Central Plains (Portage Minor Hockey)
Nancy has been a volunteer board member with Portage Minor Hockey Association (PMHA) for the past 13 years, fulfilling rolls such as team liaison, tournament coordinator and the association president for 3 years. She has also taken on vital roles within the region such as chair of the 2013 Director’s Cup tournament. She is currently the past president of PMHA, although she is taking on new roles of volunteer work within the community such as coordinating MS fundraising events in the Portage area and has recently joined the Portage regional recreation authority historical committee representing minor hockey within the region.
Nancy is the proud mother of 4 grown children (3 boys and 1 girl) who are continually active in the community both playing sports and volunteering for sporting activities. Nancy’s positive role modeling in the volunteer aspect of the community has served her children well!
Nancy has committed a considerable number of volunteer hours throughout the years in helping children in the community and contributing to the prosperity of the community itself. Nancy is one of those people that will be a lifelong volunteer and everyone in her community is thankful for her commitment and dedication over the years.
Hockey Manitoba congratulates Nancy Brooks as its September 2013 Volunteer of the Month.
