At Hockey Manitoba’s recent Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors approved changes to its fee structure for the 2013 – 2014 season. This includes a $3.25 membership fee increase which can be attributed to the following:

Hockey Manitoba has asked all Minor Hockey Associations and Leagues to ensure that any team official placed on a roster is certified in accordance to the Hockey Manitoba regulations. Certification for the Initiation (IP), Coach Level, Development I (D1), Safety and Respect in Sport (RIS) programs is required by December 1st, 2012. Associations/Leagues/Teams will be charged $50.00 for each rostered team official that is not properly certified as required by Hockey Manitoba with the IP, Coach Level, D1, Safety or RIS certification by December 1st, 2012.

Hockey Manitoba and Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealers are pleased to announce the continued partnership for novice (7 and 8 year old) teams. Local retailers in cooperation with Hockey Manitoba will be funding novice teams in minor hockey associations throughout the Province contributing to the development of minor hockey players at the grass roots level.

Hockey Manitoba would like to inform all members of the recent legislation under the Retail Sales Tax (RST) Act announced by the Province of Manitoba which identified that certain insurance contracts and the corresponding premiums in Manitoba are now subject to 7% RST. This legislation was effective July 15, 2012 and was circulated in the Province of Manitoba’s Information Bulletin No. 061, which can be found by clicking the link below.
