SR. A Provincials

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce that the 2015 Hockey Manitoba Cup will once again include the Male Sr. A Provincials category.

The inaugural Sr. A Provincials tournament was held during the 2013 Hockey Manitoba Cup with the Altona Maroons of the SEMHL taking home the championship.  In 2014 Altona returned to the final but were not able to repeat as the Deloriane Royals (THHL) were crowned Provincial champions.  The event will continue with a league-championship qualifying process where champions of the MSHL, NCHL, SEMHL and THHL will earn a berth into the Sr. A Provincials along with two wild card teams.

This year's six team provincial tournament will be hosted over two weekends, April 10-12 and April 17-19 with the semi-finals and finals being hosted in conjunction with the 2015 Hockey Manitoba Cup - Adult Rec Provincials at the MTS Iceplex.

The four leagues that will be represented at the Sr. A Provincials tournament are: Manitoba Senior Hockey League (MSHL), North Central Hockey League (NCHL), South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League (SEMHL) and the Tiger Hills Hockey League (THHL).  The 2015 wild card teams will be the league runner-ups from the MSHL and NCHL; the wildcard teams will rotate league-by-league on an annual basis.  The Sr. A Provincials will have two pools with three teams in each side playing a round-robin format.  The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals leading into the championship final set for Sunday, April 19 with a start time of 3:00 PM.
