U-16 Team Manitoba features the province’s top male players born in 2002 which includes 14 Western Hockey League picks from the 2017 Bantam Draft. Dan Eliasson (Winnipeg) leads U-16 Team Manitoba behind the bench with Rob Bell (Winnipeg) and Tyler Riel (Winnipeg) as assistant coaches. Team Manitoba will compete for the WHL Cup held October 17 – October 22 in Calgary, AB. Tournament alumni includes numerous top NHL draft picks and members of Team Canada at the World Junior Championships.
The U-18 roster includes 3 returning players from the 2016 National Women’s U-18 Championship where Team Manitoba finished in 7th place. The roster also includes two players (H. Oswlad, Angers) who attended Hockey Canada’s 2017 U-18 Exhibition Series in August. U-18 Team Manitoba is lead on the bench by Ashley Van Aggelen (Winnipeg) as head coach with assistant coaches Eugene Kaminsky (Winnipeg) and Chris McColm (Oakbank). Team Manitoba will compete for a National title in the 2017 National Women’s Under-18 Championship held in Quebec City, QC from November 1 – 5.
