2013 Western Canada Bantam Championships – Kindersley, SK

The Winnipeg Hawks, 2013 Hockey Manitoba Bantam AAA provinicial champions, will represent the province at the Western Canada Bantam Championships held April 4-7 in Kindersley, SK. The Hawks defeated the Interlake Lightning 2-0 in the best-of-three provinical finals held March 22-24 in Stonewall. The Hawks last appeared at the Westerns in 2011 hosted in Winnipeg where they finished with a silver medal after a tough loss in the championship final.

All games at Kindersley West Central Events Centre:

April 4 – 4:00 PM – Winnipeg Hawks vs SSAC Soutgate Lions (AB)
April 5 – 12:00 PM – Winnipeg Hawks vs North Shore Winter Club (BC)
April 6 – 9:00 AM – Winnipeg Hawks vs West Central Wheat Kings (Host)
April 6 – 3:00 PM – Winnipeg Hawks vs Prairie Storm (SK)


The last Western Bantam champion from Manitoba was the Winnipeg Monarchs in 2010. The Hawks head into the tournament with solid depth at all positions highlighted by their leading scorer, Nolan Patrick, and goaltending standout, Ryan Kubic. The Hawks are lead behind the bench by long serving coach, Neil Chow.
