by Hockey Manitoba  |  October 20, 2014 1:56 pm

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce that Danielle McGurry has been selected to represent Hockey Canada at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) 2014 World Women’s Qualification Series.

This best of three series will be held in Yokohama, Japan from November 8-11, 2014.

Danielle (Winnipeg), is a Level IV official. She officiates all levels of women’s hockey, including CIS, JWHL, MWJHL, and MAAA, both as a referee and a linesman. She also lines MAAA and refs and lines BAAA boys hockey.

This qualifying series features the lowest ranked team from the 2014 Olympics (Japan) vs. the Division 1A winner from last season (Czech Republic) with the opportunity to earn a berth in Division I IIHF World Championship.

In March 2014, Danielle officiated at the World Women’s Division II qualifying tournament in Mexico City.

Being recognized by Hockey Canada and selected to an IIHF event is one of the highest honours an official can receive.
