2014 PROVINCIALS WRAP-UP AFTER 5 WEEKS OF ACTION

Hockey Manitoba congratulates the two Rural Female Bantam championship teams who competed in the fifth and final weekend of the 2014 Hockey Manitoba Provincials presented by Cargill Ltd. Boissevain and Hamiota hosted 15 different Rural Female Bantam teams that saw Morden defeat Birtle in the A/B championship and Hamiota taking advantage of their home ice with a championship victory over La Broquerie.

A total of 30 different locations throughout the province were hosts in the 2014 Hockey Manitoba Provincials presented by Cargill Ltd that hosted 543 games in tournaments over the weekends of February 21-23, February 28-March 2, March 7-9, March 14-16 and March 21-23. The minor hockey Provincials consisted of Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget age divisions with various categories in both male and female hockey.

Hockey Manitoba thanks Cargill Ltd. for their commitment as the official presenting sponsor of the Provincials and the 5,000 + participants from across the province including players, officials and coaches that make the Provincials the largest event on the hockey calendar. Hockey Manitoba is also pleased to contribute to the numerous rural host locations that benefited from the tremendous support and business injected by local media, participants, parents and community involvement that brought a positive and memorable experience for all.
