CALGARY – Hockey Canada has teamed up with eBay Canada to make available game worn Team Canada ‘black’ hockey jerseys of Canada’s Men’s Hockey Team at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.

The jerseys up for bid in this auction are the BLACK jerseys, worn at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in two games: on February 16th versus Germany and February 21st versus the Czech Republic. Only three jerseys were worn by each Team Canada player at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games – one black, one red and one white.

Canada’s Women’s Olympic team game worn jersey auction ended this week, while 22 individual game worn jerseys of Canada’s Men’s Olympic hockey team are now up and available for bids at www.ebay.ca or www.hockeycanada.ca.

Hockey fans across Canada and the World have the opportunity to bid on these unique game worn Team Canada men’s black jerseys until March 10th, the day the auction closes.

All net proceeds from this auction will go towards the preparation and execution of Canada’s 2006 hockey and sledge hockey teams for the Olympic Winter Games and Paralympics in Turin, Italy.

Unlike the replica Team Canada jerseys sold in stores, these Team Canada jerseys that are up for auction are authentic, and include a special ‘swift’ tie-down strap and has the player’s numbers on the sleeves and back and the name bar on the back of jersey.

These authentic jerseys are ‘NIKE Swift’ jerseys, with all the innovations of the new NIKE swift design. For more information on the new design visit http://www.onejersey.ca This is a unique opportunity to own an authentic jersey as they are not currently sold in stores – only the replica versions are available at retail.

For more information and to bid on these items, visit www.ebay.ca or www.hockeycanada.ca.
