HOCKEY CANADA SAFETY RECERTIFICATION

by Hockey Manitoba  |  November 4, 2004 12:12 pm

Under guidelines established by Hockey Canada, participants in the Hockey Canada Safety Program, certification is valid for a three-season time span.

Hockey Manitoba fully supports the development of team officials in the province and considers the safety of its participants to be of utmost concern. Hockey Manitoba also understands the great time commitment by volunteers in the management and delivery of a safe and sound hockey program.

Hockey Manitoba agrees that all officials that have achieved the safety certification and whose certification may be scheduled to expire, will not be required at this time to recertify as per Hockey Canada regulations. Although the Branch recognizes the value of the safety certification program, Hockey Manitoba agrees that until such time that there has been a suitable and significant change for the benefit of recertification, all officials certification will be maintained. The policy will be reviewed on an annual basis.
