HOCKEY MANITOBA CHECKS IN WITH NEW MANAGMENT TEAM

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce Brian Sarna has been re-elected to a 2nd term as President, at the associations Annual General Meeting held April 29 – May 1, 2005 in Winnipeg.

Brian earnestly exclaimed,

“I am looking forward to a productive and exciting new term as the branch President and I am pleased to have the support of a progressive and strong Executive Committee. Our goal as a branch is to attract and expose the game to players, coaches and officials at all levels and to aspire to making hockey a game for life.” Brian continued, “Hockey is a special game and it is Hockey Manitoba’s goal to make it the game of choice for all youth in Manitoba.”

Brian Franklin who was also re-elected as the Branch Vice-President will be responsible for overseeing the development and technical components of the Branch programs.

Brian Franklin enthusiastically remarked,

“I am looking forward to advancing the branch commitment to development and am confident that the framework and blue-prints are in place for a successful program. Hockey Manitoba will continue our focus on development as we continue to build the game.”

Hockey Manitoba also welcomes the return for an additional 1 year term of Ray Brethour (Chair of Senior), Bill Whitehead (Chair of Rural Minor East Zone), Brenda Dubeck (Chair of Senior Female), Trent Ward (Chair of Junior A), Mike Demidiuk (Chair of Junior B) and Stan Harvey (Chair of Rural Minor West Zone) all of who were re-elected uncontested.

Returning to the Executive Committee after a 1-year absence is Dale Fossay who has replaced Ralph Borger, who stepped down, as the Chair of Finance. The President of Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) who will be elected at the WMHA Annual General meeting on May 5th will fill the remaining seat of the Executive Committee.
