WINNIPEG, MB – The 2011 Hockey Manitoba Cup presented by Travel Manitoba will offer a participant experience unlike any other tournament in Canada. Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce the special promotions for this year's Adult Rec Provincial Championships that will add to an already exceptional weekend of adult recreational hockey.

Following a true Manitoba tradition the weekend will kick-off with a social on the evening of April 21st. The Power 97 Team Party Social will take place at the MTS Iceplex in the Press Box Restaurant & Sports Bar which will be hosted by radio personalities, Philly and Rena of Power 97. The social event will feature fun games, trivia, and a special interview with a hockey celebrity guest to be announced at a later date.

The Team Manitoba Draft will also take place on Thursday evening during the Power 97 Team Party Social. Names will be announcedof the players who are selected to play forTeam Manitoba against the Winnipeg Jets Alumni & Friends on Friday, April 22nd. The players selected will go through a professional draft-like experience as their name will be called to come up and receive their Team Manitoba jersey. Players will be placed onto three Team Manitoba rosters with each team playing one mini-game against the alumni squad. As an added bonus, the top 3 players who bring out the most fans to support them at the alumni game will win a team gift card for Boston Pizza.

The fun won't stop there as Boston Pizza is back on board as the Hockey Manitoba Cup Team Headquarters. Each Hockey Manitoba Cup team will receive two complimentary pizzas and team specials all weekend long fromBoston Pizza. In addition, Boston Pizza will once again take part in the Hockey Manitoba Cup Player of the Game program by sponsoring 60 gameawards throughout the weekend.

This year's provincials will feature four open Men's divisions (1,2,3,4), as well as a Men's 40+ division, Men's 50+ division, and an open Women's division. The Hockey Manitoba Cup will take place April 21-23, 2011 in Winnipeg at the MTS Iceplex. Registration is anticipated to reach the 50 team capacity before the registration deadline of April 8, 2011 so teams are encouraged to get their deposit in soon.
