STICK GIVEAWAY FOR FIVE AND SIX YEAR-OLD PLAYERS

WINNIPEG, MB- Hockey Manitoba is pleased to launch a special stick giveaway as part of the organization’s 100th Anniversary celebrations in the 2014-15 season.  All registered players from across the province born in 2008 & 2009 will receive a free Reebok youth hockey stick with a Sidney Crosby image courtesy of Hockey Manitoba.  Beginning on Friday September 19th eligible members will be able to pick up their stick at one of two Royal Sports locations in Winnipeg until December 31st.

Eligible players must ensure the following information is provided to Royal Sports at time of pick-up.  Proof of registration document with their appropriate Minor Hockey Association for the 2014-15 season which MUST include the following details:

  • First name and last name of eligible player
  • Year of birth of eligible player
  • Minor Hockey Association the player is registered with
  • Confirmation of registration for the 2014-15 season

As an added bonus to help families across Manitoba, Royal Sports and Hockey Manitoba will also provide a 25 percent discount on regular priced hockey gear for the eligible player at time of the individual stick pick up. Bill Whitehead, President of Hockey Manitoba, comments “we’re  happy to provide our members this special giveaway program to not only celebrate our 100th Anniversary but to also ensure we can assist in alleviating some costs associated with playing our great sport.”

The giveaway program is designed for individual pick up only, a representative will not be eligible to pick up sticks for an entire team or group of players. After December 31st only, Minor Hockey Associations outside of Winnipeg will be eligible to assign a representative to pick up any remaining sticks for eligible players within their association. Hockey Manitoba will develop a list for each rural association with the remaining eligible players that have not picked up their stick as of December 31st, the association will then assign an individual to pick up the remaining amount of sticks at one of the two Royal Sports locations in Winnipeg. All eligible players are encouraged to pick up their stick prior to December 31st and take advantage of the special 25 percent discount offer.
