WINNIPEG, MB – Hockey Manitoba is pleased to unveil a new logo design to represent the organization along with a branding package for various annual provincial programs and events. In the early 1990’s Hockey Manitoba introduced a new logo which incorporated a number of features that are representative of hockey in our province. The existing logo includes a hockey player, the provincial bison and an outline of the province, as well as our organizational name. Hockey Manitoba recognizing the sensitivity of introducing a new logo, many existing features from the old logo were retained in the new concept.

Hockey Manitoba Executive Director, Peter Woods, comments: "We believe that the new logo displays a modern image that appeals to the public and will be embraced by our members. The new logo displays a hockey player, the provincial bison and our organizational name placed on a shield. We believe the shield maintains our tradition with the past, as well as the qualities of honour, protection and strength." The new suite of logos includes specific Hockey Manitoba events such as the Director’s Cup, Female Bantam Challenge, Reebok Skills and the Provincial Championships. The new logo suite will allow greater opportunity and ability to promote the organization professionally, and provide consistency in the recognition of Hockey Manitoba.

Hockey Manitoba has also officially changed the organization's web address which will now be www.hockeymanitoba.ca. To echo the changes of the new logo and branding package, the Hockey Manitoba website has been visually revamped, as will the organization's various social network pages such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Consistent visual standards are essential in creating a strong brand identity, so as part of the new branding strategy a guideline has been produced for use of the new Hockey Manitoba logo which can be found at www.hockeymanitoba.ca/logo.php.
