Winnipeg, MB – Join Hockey Manitoba on Monday, October 28 for a special “Home Ice Advantage” event to celebrate Team Manitoba and help two special children’s charities.

Come watch U-16 Team Manitoba play in their lone exhibition game prior to leaving to the 2013 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup, Oct 31 – Nov 3 in Calgary, AB. U-16 Team Manitoba will play against the Winnipeg Wild (Midget AAA) at the MTS Iceplex – WFP Rink, opening ceremony at 7:00 PM. Donations will be accepted at the door with all proceeds going towards KidSport and Children’s Wish Foundation. All fans who donate will be entered to win special door prizes from Hockey Manitoba including a pair of Winnipeg Jets tickets for November 4th vs Detroit Red Wings.

U-16 Team Manitoba features the province’s top male players born in 1998 which includes 17 Western Hockey League picks from the 2013 draft. Team Manitoba will compete at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup hosted by the Western Hockey League Oct 31 – Nov 3 in Calgary, AB. Tournament alumni includes numerous members top NHL draft picks and members of Team Canada at the World Junior Championships.

U-18 Team Manitoba features the province’s top female players born in 1996-1998. Manitoba has consistently produced many elite athletes for Team Canada at the U-18, U-22, and Sr. National Women’s Teams over the last decade. Team Manitoba will compete at the National Women’s U-18 Championship hosted by Hockey Canada Nov 6 – 10 in Calgary, AB.
