The Manitoba Moose Sledge Hockey team has brought home a Silver from the 2009 Western Canada Sledge Championships. The tournament was held April 3-5, 2009 in Calgary, AB at the South Fish Recreation Centre.

The tournament saw more than 100 athletes compete in 3 divisions. Teams came from across Alberta, and as far away as BC, Kindersley SK, andWinnipeg, MB to compete in the 3 day event. In the Senior B division, newcomers to the event, theManitoba Moose showed everyone their skill going undefeated in the round robin. The gold medal game was an exciting one and pitted the Moose against 2007 Champions, the Red Deer Rage. With the game knotted at one, The Rage managed to put home a wrist shot from the high slot to take the lead with only 90 seconds left to play, and hold on for the win.
