November 2011 Volunteer of the Month – Dave Perron (Interlake)

by Hockey Manitoba  |  November 30, 2011 2:01 pm

Dave Perron has worked tirelessly for many years to make hockey a better sport in the Interlake region.

He began in 1995 as a coach in the Stony Mountain Minor Hockey Association until 2005. He organized hockey tournaments and fundraisers for ten years for his son's teams as well as many other teams.

Dave was on the Stony Mountain Minor Hockey executive from 1997 until 2005. He became the president in 2001 and continued in that role until 2005. He joined the Interlake Minor Hockey executive in 2000 and has remained there until today. In 2007, Dave became the Vice Director of Interlake Minor Hockey until present.

He has been the major organizer and manager of the Director's Cup team for Interlake from 2006 until present. He also was involved in starting the Midget AAA City hockey team that plays in Winnipeg as well as the Bantam AAA hockey team that also plays out of the Winnipeg Minor Hockey League.

Dave has continued to be a big part of Interlake Minor Hockey. He volunteers much of his time even though his children are grown and no longer a part of Interlake Minor Hockey. The region is extremely lucky to have him and can’t thank him enough for his ongoing efforts.

Hockey Manitoba congratulates Dave Perron as the November 2011 Volunteer of the Month.

The Volunteer of the Month award is presented by Awards & More, official partner of Hockey Manitoba.
