Novice & Atom teams eligible for Wheat Kings Fantasy Camp

Brandon, MB – Western Manitoba minor hockey teams have less than a week to enter the Seventh Annual Rogers Fan Camp, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 1st in Brandon's Westman Place.

Western Manitoba minor hockey fans are encouraged to nominate a favourite minor hockey team with players 10 years of age and under, for a fun interactive event. With dinner, private ice time and an autograph session with members of the Wheat Kings.

Deadline for nominations is Sunday, January 15th at 12 midnight.

Members of the Wheat Kings include the likes of 19-year old right-winger Mark Stone, who recently helped Team Canada to a bronze medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships, Calgary Flames' prospect Michael Ferland and 18-year old Swiss import Alessio Bertaggia.

The camp will again be under the direction of Wheat King assistant coaches Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Darren Ritchie.

To enter your team, you must order online by visiting the Fan Zone page at www.wheatkings.com. You will need to email the team name, age(s) of players, coach's name and contact information.

The minor hockey teams must be from the Novice or Atom level. Four teams will be randomly selected in January 2012.

In other Wheat Kings news, the hockey club kicks off a 3-game home stand Wednesday night against the visiting Saskatoon Blades. Brandon is coming off a weekend split of a 2-game series against the Raiders in Prince Albert. The series marked the return of Stone and Bertaggia from the World Junior Hockey Championships.
