POE DEVELOPMENT CAMP ROSTERS FOR SUMMER 2014

Hockey Manitoba is proud to release the 2014 U-16 & U-18 Program of Excellence (POE) Development Camp rosters, both U-16 and U-18 programs will host a skills camp in early July followed by a prep Camp later in August.  The skills camps will entirely focus on further developing individual player skills and tactics along with fitness testing and training. The prep camps held in August just prior to the start of the 2014-15 tryout season will feature more team tactics and systems with more competitive ice sessions and inter-squad games.

2014 POE Development Camps:

U-18 POE Skills Camp – July 8-9 – Winnipeg (MTS Iceplex)
U-16 POE Skills Camp – July 9-11 – Winnipeg (MTS Iceplex)
U-16 POE Prep Camp – August 14 -16 – Winnipeg (MTS Iceplex)
U-18 POE Prep Camp – August 26-27 – Winnipeg (St. Vital Arena)

A total of thirty-one (31) players have been named to the U-16 POE Development Camp roster featuring a breakdown of four (4) goalies, ten (10) defensemen, and seventeen (17) forwards.  The roster includes a special invite to defenseman Jett Woo who has been identified by Hockey Manitoba as a potential exceptional under-age player through his 2013-14 season performance and the recent Hockey Manitoba Director’s Cup Prospects program.  The female U-18 roster features a total of twenty-eight (28) players which includes four (4) goalies, nine (9) defenseman, and fifteen (15) forwards.

U-16 Team Manitoba will compete at the 2015 Canada Games (Male Hockey) held February 21 – March 1, 2015 in Prince George, BC.  Following the development camps the U-16 Team Manitoba staff will scout the early portion of the 2014-15 hockey season and will invite another short list to attend an exhibition tournament in December with the final roster of 20 players being named later in December 2014.  U-18 Team Manitoba will compete at the 2015 Canada Games (Female Hockey) held February 14 – 20, 2015 in Prince George, BC.  Following the summer camps another short list will be named to an exhibition roster that will compete at the 2014 Mandi Schwartz Challenge held September 18-21 in Regina, SK with the final 20 players being named at the same time as the U-16 program.
