SMA TO HOST FEMALE WORLD SPORT SCHOOL CHALLENGE

2014-FSSC-Promo-Tournament-2St. Mary’s Academy (SMA) is pleased to announce that Hockey Canada’s second annual Female World Sport School Challenge will take place at MTS Iceplex from Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16, 2013. SMA is proud to once again be the host school for this event.

This year’s tournament will bring together girls’ prep teams from eight sport schools across the country, including three Winnipeg schools; Balmoral Hall, Shaftesbury Hockey Academy and host St. Mary’s Academy. They will be joined by the Banff Hockey Academy from Banff, Alta., the Edge School for Athletes from Calgary, Alta., St. Francis Xavier High School in Edmonton, Alta., Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, B.C., and Rothesay Netherwood School from Rothesay, N.B.

Tickets for the tournament are available at the door of the MTS Iceplex. Tournament passes are $25 and individual game tickets are $5 (12 & under free). The tournament weekend features a Meet & Greet with Olympic Gold Medalist Jill Officer on Friday, March 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at MTS Iceplex.

The tournament also features a banquet at the Victoria Inn on Saturday, March 15 where Winnipeg Jets Head Coach, Paul Maurice, will be the keynote speaker. SMA Alumna and Winnipeg Jets Communications Coordinator Christina Caligiuri will emcee the evening.
