U-16 MALE & U-18 FEMALE TEAM MANITOBA ROSTERS ANNOUNCED

Hockey Manitoba is proud to announce U-16 Team Manitoba and U-18 Team Manitoba rosters. After a seven month long process of the Program of Excellence (POE), the selection and development process for Team Manitoba, the final twenty players for each roster have been identified.

The U-16 roster includes twenty (20) names with two (2) goaltenders, six (6) defensemen , and twelve (12) forwards. The final roster includes 2016 WHL Bantam Draft first & second round picks; Trent Miner (20th, Vancouver Giants), Cole Muir (33rd, Regina Pats), Eric Fawkes (40th, Seattle Thunderbirds) & Ben McCartney (43rd, Brandon Wheat Kings).

U-16 Team Manitoba will compete at the 2016 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup held October 19 – 23, 2016 in Calgary, AB. The Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup is a four team round-robin tournament and skills combine with Alberta, BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan serving as a major showcase for top WHL prospects and the Hockey Canada U-17 Program of Excellence.

The U-18 roster includes a total of twenty (20) names with two (2) goaltenders, six (6) defensemen, and twelve (12) forwards. The roster also includes U-18 Team Canada players Ashton Bell (Westman Wildcats, Deloraine, MB) & Corinne Schroeder (Balmoral Hall, Elm Creek, MB)

U-18 Team Manitoba will be competing at the U-18 National Championships November 9-13, 2016 in Regina, Saskatchewan. This tournament includes eight (8) provincial and regional teams, including Alberta, Atlantic, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario Blue, Ontario Red, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
