U-16 POE SUMMER DEVELOPMENT CAMP ROSTER ANNOUNCED

WINNIPEG, MB – Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce the roster for the 2017 U-16 Program of Excellence (POE) Summer Development Camp held August 16-20 in Winnipeg, MB. The camp will be the third phase of the Hockey Manitoba U-16 (Male) Program of Excellence, following this camp a short list of players will be selected to participate in a final exhibition weekend this fall before the final roster is named in early October. U-16 Team Manitoba will compete at the 2017 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup hosted by the Western Hockey League, October 18-22 in Calgary, AB.

The U-16 POE Summer Development Camp roster consists of twenty-nine (29) players, comprised of sixteen (16) forwards, nine (9) defensemen, and four (4) goaltenders. One under-age player, Carson Lambos, remains in the mix for an exclusive development opportunity. Should an under-age player potentially continue to challenge for a final roster spot later this fall a special exemption application process will be required to be filed by Hockey Manitoba to gain an under-age exemption status.

The roster features nineteen (19) players recently selected in the WHL Bantam Draft including first round picks Seth Jarvis (11th overall, Portland) and Daemon Hunt (15th overall, Moose Jaw). Player invite breakdown by Hockey Manitoba Region; Brandon – 3, Central Plains – 2, Eastman – 2, Parkland – 1, Pembina Valley – 2, Winnipeg – 14, Westman South – 3, Yellowhead – 2
