The 2015 U-16 Program of Excellence – Spring Tournament will be held April 10-12, 2015 in Winnipeg at MTS Iceplex.  This tournament will be the first phase in the Program of Excellence (POE) selection process for U-16 Team Manitoba that will be eventually be selected in the fall of 2015.

The POE Spring Tournament will bring together 102 of the best ’00 born hockey players from across Manitoba as identified by Hockey Manitoba’s scouting network.  Players will be placed on one of six teams for the weekend.  The POE Spring Tournament will also serve as the last major scouting event for the Western Hockey League & Manitoba Junior Hockey League before their respective 2015 Bantam Drafts.

Following this tournament approximately 40 players will be invited to attend the Hockey Manitoba POE TOP-40 Camp held May 21-24, 2015 in Winnipeg.  The third phase of the selection process will be the U-16 POE Development Camps held in July and August with approximately 28 players.  The final phase will be completed through scouting the early part of the 2015-16 season and a possible exhibition game.  Team Manitoba will compete in the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup, set for Oct 27 – Nov 1, 2015 in Calgary, AB.
