Volunteer extras needed for crowds in Don Cherry Story

Extras Needed To Create Hockey Crowds!

E1 Entertainment, 5 for Fighting and Frantic Films in association with CBC Television will be shooting the original Canadian bio-pic, Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story. This four-hour mini-series being made for broadcast on CBC, chronicles the life of Don Cherry – one of Canada’s most prominent hockey personalities and top sportscaster. It will be shot on location in Winnipeg, Selkirk and Brandon.

VOLUNTEER EXTRAS NEEDED!

Two different arenas will be used for hockey scenes: Keystone Centre in Brandon will ‘double’ for NHL play; while Selkirk Recreation Complex will be used for AHL action. To create the effect of large hockey crowds, hundreds of VOLUNTEER EXTRAS are needed to come out for three days of shooting:

SUNDAY, MAY 24 Selkirk Recreation Complex Please arrive at 10:00 am NO CAMERAS ALLOWED!

Come and help recreate hockey history! Scenes to be shot include the 1965 Calder Cup celebration by the Rochester Americans; and a 1957 Hershey Bears’ fight sequence in Springfield Arena.

EXCELLENT PRIZES TO BE WON:

-Three grand prizes and hundreds of additional prizes to be given away!

-Chance to win the ‘show prize’ to be drawn at the end of production

–Trip for 2 to Toronto for a Toronto Maple Leafs game!

WHAT TO WEAR:

-Sunday Best’ from 1950’s/1960’s

-Colours: tan, beige, charcoal, navy, grey, anything neutral

-Clothing: overcoats, hats, gloves, scarves, below-the-knee skirts, etc.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR:

-Anything white

-Anything bright

-Visible logos

WHAT TO BRING:

-It will be cool in the hockey arena, so please wear or bring leggings, long johns, mitts, warm footwear, blankets to cover with or sit on, etc.

-Women wearing skirts should have leggings underneath and warm footwear (don’t worry, your feet will not be seen on camera!).

-While snacks will be provided, extras are encouraged to bring their own additional snacks and drinks.
