Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Tristin Langan of the Moose Jaw Warriors has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending November 18, 2018.

In three games this week, Langan posted eight points (3G-5A) and a plus-eight rating as the Warriors extended their winning streak to three games and improved to 6-2-1-1 in their past 10 games, moving within two points of the Brandon Wheat Kings for third in East Division.

Tuesday, Langan recorded a goal and four points as the Warriors rolled to a 7-0 victory against the Tri-City Americans. Langan scored the Warriors’ second goal of the game while picking up assists on their third, fourth, and sixth goals. He was named the third star of the game and the WHL’s first star of the night for his performance.

Saturday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Langan scored twice in a 3-2 win. Langan scored the Warriors’ first and third goals of the game, picking up his third game-winning goal of the season. The performance garnered him first-star honours for the game. Sunday, Langan closed out his week with a pair of assists in a 9-1 win for Moose Jaw against the Kootenay ICE.

Langan now has points in nine of his last 10 games and 13 points (5G-8A) on an active six-game point streak. The 20-year-old product of Swan River, Man. was originally selected in the ninth round, 183rd overall, by the Warriors in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

The 6-foot-0, 206-pound forward has produced strong numbers in the early portion of the season with 33 points (15G-18A), including five power-play goals, one short-handed goal, and three game-winning goals in 19 games. Those totals have him leading the Warriors in scoring, tied for eighth in league scoring, and tied for third in scoring among overage forwards.

To date, Langan has recorded 104 points (40G-64A), including seven power-play goals, three short-handed goals, and five game-winning goals in 193 WHL regular season games.

The Warriors are back in action at Mosaic Place Friday, November 23 (7:00 p.m. CT) playing host to the Edmonton Oil Kings. On Saturday, November 24 (2:30 pm. CT), the Warriors will play host to the Hurricanes in Sportsnet’s Saturday Showcase game.
