Hutlet & Thiessen selected for Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup
Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce that Cayle Hutlet (Brandon) has been selected as a referee and Brett Thiessen (Interlake) has been selected as a linesman to the Western U16 Tournament in Calgary, AB from October 31 – November 3.
Cayle is a level 4, and currently referees the MJHL & Midget AAA hockey, along with lining all levels, including the MJHL, KJHL & Midget AAA. This is his first season reffing in the MJHL.
Brett is a level 4, and currently referees Midget AAA hockey, along with lining all levels, including the MJHL, KJHL, MMJHL & Midget AAA. He has begun reffing in the KJHL and Senior hockey this season.
This tournament is a joint program between the Western Hockey League and the 4 Western Branches. The players are the best under 16 aged players from each Branch, and it is a tremendous opportunity for officials to be exposed to this high level of competition.
