Wheat Kings extend lease, unveil 2012-13 season ticket packages

Brandon, MB – Fresh off signing a new five year lease extension with the Keystone Centre, the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have unveiled their Season Ticket pricing for the 2012-13 season.

While prices will be going up this coming season, the hockey club's business model has always hinged around offering western Manitoba hockey fans the most affordable ticket prices and with Wednesday's announcement, the Wheat Kings are pleased to announce that will not change this coming year.

Due to a number of factors, Adult Season Ticket prices will be $425 this coming year, which equates to a single game ticket price of just over $12 per game which represents a saving of close to $8 (based on box office regular admission prices). To help illustrate the savings, if one was to purchase tickets for 36 individual games, the price (including agency fees) would be $720. That means, fans will have paid for their season tickets by the 22nd game of the year.

"Our season ticket base is very important to us," says Wheat Kings' General Manager and Owner Kelly McCrimmon. "Under terms of our new lease, we will be paying in excess of four times the cost of the previous one and while this is a positive development for the Keystone, it does significantly increase our cost of doing business."

For the first time in seven years, the Wheat Kings will offer Senior Season Ticket pricing this year and will be available for $375. Youth (18 and under) season tickets will cost $200.

To help offset the increase, fans that order and pay for their season tickets by the June 15th Early Bird Deadline will receive a $25 Discount.

The Wheat Kings sold close to 3,000 season tickets in 2011-12 and averaged well over 4,100 fans per home game during the regular season.

Fans wanting to purchase 2012-13 season tickets can stop by the Wheat Kings office, call 726-3535 or fax back their order form to 726-3540.
