2015 DC Prospects – Winnipeg

DCP-Logo-100x81The Director’s Cup Prospects program is an annual development program designed to introduce key concepts & skills for players entering their Major Bantam season and the U-16 Program of Excellence. Players entering this program are invited by Hockey Winnipeg through participation in the 2015 Hockey Winnipeg VP Cup.  The sixty players (6G, 18D, 36 F) who are invited to participate in the Director’s Cup Prospects program will run through a development phase from April 16 – April 30, culminating with the Director’s Cup Prospects Tournament held May 1-3, 2015.

DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM
CanadianWayEach region will have a desingated DC Prospects coaching staff to deliver the development curriculum that embodies key concepts from Hokcey Manitoba & Hockey Canada. Players will participate in both on-ice and off-ice sessions that are designed to cover key skills and concepts needed at the Major Bantam level leading into the U-16 Program of Excellence and junior draft year (MJHL, WHL) while building a strong foundation for Midget, Junior, and into National team programs.

PROSPECTS TOURNAMENT
Players will participate on mixed-regional rosters for the Director’s Cup Prospects Tournament providing an identical experience to the U-16 POE Spring Tournament and a key character building opportunity. Players and coaches will be assigned to 12 teams to compete in 4 games over the tournament weekend. The 2015 tournament will be held May 1-3, 2015 in Winnipeg.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION
 JK2_6748Once identified/selected by your home region all players will be provided a web link for the central registration portal hosted by Hockey Manitoba. The portal will include online registration form, online payment (credit card only), and option to purchase program apparel. Standardized program fees province-wide include program items such as: ice time, off-ice sessions, facilities, branded practice jerseys, branded game jerseys, socks, honorariums for program staff, coach development resources, player development resources. 2015 registration fee for Winnipeg players is set at $239/player (No GST).  If you have been selected by Hockey Winnipeg please click here to complete the online registration and payment.

WHL SKILLS COMBINE
IMG_2571 Players participating in the DC Prospects program will be eligible for the WHL Skills Combine hosted August 13-16, 2015 by Hockey Manitoba and the WHL. The combine will feature 120 players specifically selected from the DC Prospects program participating in skills & fitness testing using state-of-the-art technolgy by Sport Testing Inc, plus additional skills practices, and inter-squad games. All skills/fitness testing results are instantly uploaded into the WHL scouting database for member clubs to evaluate and compare. Once selected, player registration for the combine is appx. $295.
