U-16 Team Manitoba features the province’s top male players born in 2003 which includes 16 Western Hockey League picks from the 2018 Bantam Draft. The roster is highlighted by 2018 WHL Second overall draft pick Carson Lambos (Winnipeg) and fellow first round picks, goaltender Tyler Brennan (Winnipeg) and Eric Alarie (Winnipeg). Canada Games alumni includes numerous top NHL draft picks and members of Team Canada at the World Junior Championships. Garth Mitchell (Yellowhead) leads U-16 Team Manitoba behind the bench with Brad Purdie (Winnipeg) and Dan Eliasson (Winnipeg) as assistant coaches. U-16 Team Manitoba will compete during Week 1 of the 2019 Canada Winter Games from February 15 – 22 in Red Deer, AB.
U-18 Team Manitoba features 6 athletes from Winnipeg and 14 from the rural regions of the Province. The roster is highlighted by seven (7) returning players including Sarah Dennehy (Winnipeg) & Olivia Cvar (Stonewall), who will be participating with Team MB for their third straight year. The roster also includes goaltender Raygan Kirk (Ste. Anne) & Julianna Thomson (Winnipeg) who attended Hockey Canada’s U18 Nationa Team Camp in August 2018 with Kirk going on to win gold with Team canada at the 2019 U18 Women’s World Championship in Osaka, Japan. U-18 Team Manitoba is lead on the bench by Reid Sloan (Pembina Valley) as head coach with assistant coaches Jordan Sobkowicz (Winnipeg) and Sarah Zacharias (Winnipeg). U-18 Team Manitoba will compete during Week 2 of the 2019 Canada Winter Games from February 23 – March 2 in Red Deer, AB.
