Twenty-two participants took part in the 2009 High Performance Coaching Seminar which is the first step in the process to earning a High Perfomance 1 Coaching Certifcation under Hockey Canada and the CAC. The 6-day seminar had participants from variousHigh Performance levels of hockey including Midget AAA, Jr.A, Major Junior, University, and Provincial team coaches.

The Seminar featured a combination of classroom presentations, group work and on-ice activities which coincided with the U-17 and U-16 Program of Excellence Summer Camps. The presentation schedule saw the likes of Al Murray (Hockey Canada), Scott Arniel (Manitoba Moose), Ray Bennett (St. Louis Blues), Andy Murray (St. Louis Blues) and many more superb presenters (coaches) from the university, major junior, and professional ranks.

The 22 participants will now complete their certification through a process of exam work and field evalutions within the next 1-2 seasons.

The High Performance Coaching Semniar takes place every 2-3 years and participants are selected on an application basis. The next Seminar in Manitoba will take place in either 2011 or 2012, keep posted to www.hockeymanitoba.mb.ca in early 2011 for more details.
