by Hockey Manitoba  |  February 13, 2015 3:12 pm

Twenty minor hockey associations across the province will welcome 259 teams on Sunday, February 15 for the Hockey Manitoba 100th Anniversary Outdoor Series presented by Scotiabank. The historic celebration will see 3,574 participants province-wide who will compete in 142 games outdoors wearing 100th Anniversary commemorative CCM jerseys provided by Hockey Manitoba. All  game scores will be collectively tallied into the Outdoor Series Black vs. Gold competition to determine if Team Black or Team Gold will win the 100th Anniversary Outdoor Series presented by Scotiabank.

Games will be played on a variety of basic outdoor rink venues, capturing the historic roots of the Outdoor Series celebration. Host associations and community clubs with countless volunteers have made great efforts to provide welcoming venues for participants with food vendors, apparel sales, fundraisers and entertainment throughout the day on Sunday. In recognition of their support, Hockey Manitoba is providing Outdoor Series hosts with Scotiabank Community Hockey Grants totalling $10,000.
