SE PRAIRIE THUNDER ADVANCE TO ALLAN CUP

by Hockey Manitoba  |  March 31, 2014 12:36 pm

The South East Prairie Thunder return to the Allan Cup Canadian Senior AAA Championship after sweeping the Shellbrook Elks three games to none in their best-of-five series at T.G. Smith Centre in Steinbach last weekend. The Prairie Thunder’s Tyler Dittmer scored Sunday’s game winning goal in overtime to win the qualifying tournament and the team now looks to repeat their 2012 Allan Cup championship victory.

The Allan Cup runs from April 14-19 in Dundas, Ontario and the Prairie Thunder join the hosting team, the Dundas Real McCoys, as well as the Kenora Thistles and the Clarenville Caribou from Newfoundland. Still to qualify are the teams from the Pacific Region (Alberta, BC) team and Southern Ontario.
