The Central Plains Capitals defeated the Yellowhead Chiefs 3-0 in the deciding game of the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League (MFMHL) finals. With the victory the Capitals advance directly to the Esso Cup – National Female Midget Championship held April 19-25 in Red Deer, AB.

Central Plains will look to become the third Manitoban team to win the National title since it’s inception in 2009. The Westman Wildcats won the inaugural Esso Cup in 2009 followed by the Pembina Valley Hawks in 2012.
