Nill also announced that Atlanta Thrashers defenceman Andy Sutton, who was previously named to Team Canada on April 6th, has decided to not participate at the 2004 World Championship due to a nagging injury

Staios is the 8th returning player from Canada’s 2003 gold medal winning championship team in Finland, and is the fourth Edmonton Oilers player that has been named to join Team Canada for this year’s event. The 2004 Men’s Worlds will be Dumont’s second international experience, as he was a member of Team Canada at the 1998 World Junior Championship in Helsinki.
