February 2013 Volunteer of the Month – Darcy Dearsley (PV)

by Hockey Manitoba  |  March 22, 2013 1:41 pm

Darcy has lived in Baldur, MB for his entire life, where he played minor sports and was a member of the Cartwright Senior hockey team that won five (5) championships in a row in the Southwest Senior Hockey League in the 80's. He is currently employed by the R.M. of Argyle and Village of Baldur.

Throughout the years, not only has he been an active hockey parent and member of the community, but he has been an official, coach, manager and sat on various local boards. This season he was an assistant coach for the Rock Lake Female Bantam hockey team and manager of the Pembina Valley Hawks Female Midget AAA hockey team. He also sits on the Baldur Minor Sports Board (a position he has held for at least 12 years) and has coached/managed hockey for 10 years. He was an active official for a number of years – before his children got old enough to play sports and the "running" started.

Darcy has attained his Coach level, Respect in Sport, Initiation Program and Officiating Certification. He is yet another prime example of the extraordinary volunteers in our province who spend countless hours giving back to our great game.

Hockey Manitoba and the Pembina Valley Region congratulate Darcy Dearsley as the Hockey Manitoba February 2013 Volunteer of the Month presented by Awards & More.
