by Hockey Manitoba  |  May 3, 2004 12:12 pm

At a recent luncheon Hockey Manitoba proudly announced Gerald Carson as the association’s Hockey Manitoba – “Volunteer of the Year”

Gerald Carson has lived in Oakville, Manitoba for the past 18 years with his wife, Wendy of 27 years. He has two children, daughter Mandy and son Chris.

Gerald first became involved in Hockey when his son Chris started playing in 1996. Since then, he has been involved in the minor hockey associations in Oakville and Portage as well as contributing his time at the Regional level within Central Plains. This past year saw Gerald expand his participation to the Senior Hockey level by being part of a group that re-introduced the Oakville Seals of the Tiger Hills Hockey League in Oakville.

Gerald has spent countless numbers of hours developing web sites for the Central Plains region, the Portage Bantam and Midget AA Terriers and the Oakville Rangers Pee Wee team. In addition, he has been actively involved at the Board of Directors level within Oakville and Portage Minor Hockey.

This unselfish commitment and dedication to all facets of our game makes Gerald Carson the 2003-04 Hockey Manitoba Volunteer of the Year.
