HOCKEY CANADA NAMES EVENT MANAGER FOR 2007 IIHF WORLD WOMEN’S HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP
CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada announced on Tuesday, that it has named Greg Paseshnik, of Winnipeg, MB the Event Manager of the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship, which will take place in Winnipeg, MB in early April 2007.
Paseshnik has served as the Director of Public Relations and Special Events for the Team Canada Volleyball Centre since 2003. A graduate of the University of Manitoba, Paseshnik has also worked for the Canadian Open of Curling, the Canadian Arena Cross Championship and the National Sports Centre based in Winnipeg.
“We are very excited to name Greg as the Event Manager of the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Championship,” said Senior Vice-President, Business Operations of Hockey Canada, Scott Smith. “He brings an abundance of event experience to the table, and has roots in Winnipeg which will serve us well in getting the entire community involved in making the 2007 Worlds a huge success.”
“I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and working with the Manitoba Host Committee in making this the best World Women’s Championship ever,” said Paseshnik. “I know that the City of Winnipeg and all Manitobans will rally behind this event and make it a memorable event for all participants and spectators.”
The 2007 IIHF World Championship will include the defending Olympic Champions, Canada, as well as the defending World Champions and Olympic bronze medalists, the USA and the Olympic silver medalists, Sweden.
The 2007 IIHF World Women’s Championship is now taking Priority Reservations for event ticket packages. By purchasing Priority Reservations, fans will be placed in a priority sequence ensuring the very best seats will be at their disposal once tickets go on sale. These unique Priority Reservations can be purchased for $20.07(all fees included) by calling (204) 780-3333 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca. Priority sequence will be based on a first come, first serve basis.
Ticket packages for the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Championship (April 3-10, 2007) will go on sale at a later date once the schedule is finalized and approved by the IIHF. Ticket packages for the seventeen scheduled games that will take place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB will start at $255.00 while early bird three-game packages for games held at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, MB will start at $49.00.
