HOCKEY MANITOBA ANNOUNCES MALE UNDER-17 CANADA GAMES EVALUATION ROSTER

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to release the names of the players who have been selected to remain on the EVALUATION ROSTER for the Male 2007 CANADA GAMES TEAM MANITOBA UNDER 17 TEAM. These players will continue to be monitored throughout the early part of the 2006/2007 season while playing for their respective club teams.

The Male Program of Excellence selects twenty players from Manitoba be part of the final team roster for TEAM MANITOBA that will be announced in late October/early November 2006. TEAM MANITOBA will compete at the 2007 CANADA WINTER GAMES in Whitehorse, Yukon February 23rd – March 2nd, 2007. Each province will send a team, along with the North West Territories and host Yukon teams. Team Manitoba’s first action is against Team PEI February 24.

This is a great opportunity for the male players to be evaluated by Hockey Canada scouts for inclusion in the future national team programs. World Junior Gold Medallists Cam Barker and Dustin Boyd were members of the 2003 Canada Games team.
