Hockey Manitoba’s 16th Director’s Cup set for this weekend

WINNIPEG, MB – Hockey Manitoba's 16th Director's Cup is set for this weekend, March 25-27th, taking place in Morris and Rosenort. The event is a showcase development tournament for male 1997 born players aimed to introduce young players to high performance events and the concept of the Hockey Manitoba Program of Excellence. The tournament features 12 total teams, with all 9 rural Hockey Manitoba Regions mixed with 3 Winnipeg teams.

The tournament follows a non-championship style showcase schedule with each team playing 4 games throughout the weekend. The draw begins with teams divided into 4 pools then followed by a reseeding to determine placement for each team's 3rd & 4th games. Director's Cup alumni feature some very prestige hockey names such James Reimer, Cam Barker, Ian White, Eric Fehr, and many more players who have gone onto superb junior and professional careers.
