Inaugural Hockey Manitoba Cup next month; partners with Boston Pizza

Winnipeg – The puck drops in only 36 days to open the inaugural Hockey Manitoba Cup – Adult Rec. Hockey Provincial Tournament. In what is expected to be a tremendous event, the tournament will take place April 9-11th at Dakota Community Centre (Winnipeg) and will be Hockey Manitoba’s first provincial championship held for the Adult Rec. category. The tournament will host three men’s divisions, with some teams from as far as Churchill and Souris, for what is to be a true celebration of recreational hockey in our province.

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce Boston Pizza as a Presenting Partner and Official Team Party Headquarters of the 2010 Hockey Manitoba Cup.This partnership offers all Hockey Manitoba Cup teams complimentary vouchers as well asspecial discounts on food and beverage items throughout the weekend. These special offers will be valid at all Winnipeg Boston Pizza locations, with the primary Team Party Headquarterslocated atBoston Pizza – St.Vital (Bishop Grandin Blvd at Ste. Anne’s Rd). HockeyManitoba and Boston Pizza – St. Vital will also host fun social games and prize contests during the evenings of April 9th and 10th at the Team Party Headquarters. In addition, Boston Pizza – Player of the Game Awards will be given out at the end of all round-robin gamesof the tournament.

The response for the Hockey Manitoba Cup has been excellent as with five weeks to gountil the tournament, team registration is near 50% capacity. The Hockey Manitoba Cup will surely be a favourable experience for all teams regardless of calibre and background.
