Interim Manager, Hockey Operations Hockey Canada – British Columbia Centre of Excellence

Hockey Canada is the governing body for amateur hockey in Canada. In cooperation with 13 Branch Associations, it oversees the management of hockey programming from an entry level to international competition. Further information may be found at www.hockeycanada.ca.

Hockey Canada is inviting applications for the contract position of Interim Manager, Hockey Operations to work out of the BC Centre of Excellence in Vancouver, BC. The BC Centre of Excellence serves as a resource facility and administrative office with the focus on hockey development at the grass roots level. In conjunction with the Vancouver Canucks and BC Amateur Hockey Association, the BC Centre of Excellence is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing hockey development programs for registered hockey participants in the province of British Columbia. This position will be for a period of one year.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Development, the Manager, Hockey Operations will be responsible for:

C Day-to-day operations of the BC COE (financial/staffing)
C Reinforce working relationships with Branch (BCAHA) and members.
C Reinforce working relationships with Vancouver Canucks.
C Create and deliver development programs with minor hockey coaches, officials, parents and players in BC
C Facilitating at workshops, seminars, meetings and on-ice sessions

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate shall possess the following:>
C A degree in Sports Administration or a related discipline with a minimum of three years of related administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training or experience.
C Knowledge of Hockey Canada Development programs and the structure of amateur hockey in British Columbia.
C Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Mail.
C Hockey background (player and/or administrator) is essential.
C Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication, comfort in dealing with the public and volunteer base.
C Bilingualism would be considered an asset
