LONG GAME & WORLD GIRLS HOCKEY WEEKEND TO TAKE PLACE OCT 7-9
WINNIPEG, MB – The women’s hockey world will come together this year from Oct. 7-9, 2016 to celebrate World Girls’ Hockey Weekend, with the highlight of the weekend being the Long Game. World Girls’ Hockey Weekend has provincial members, minor hockey associations, communities and families from all over Canada hosting events from road hockey games to team skills sessions. When the weekend is complete, Hockey Canada will submit a list of all events that took place across the country to the International Ice Federation, and that list will be released to the hockey world.

Manitoba host locations & teams participating in the Long Game:The Long Game brings together players in every province and territory for Red and White bragging rights in five different age categories – Atom, Peewee, Bantam, Midget and Senior. Starting on the east coast , the 1st game begins Oct. 8th bright and earl. When the buzzer sounds, the game & score head west across each province and territory until it ends in B.C. 15 hours later.
