Hockey Manitoba is pleased and honoured to announce that two officials have been selected for the CIS Men’s National Hockey Championship – University Cup, held March 14-17 in Saskatoon, SK.

Darrell Surminski (Winnipeg) and Kelsey Mahoney (Winnipeg) have been selected by Hockey Canada as linesmen for the tournament.

Surminski is a Level 4 official currently a linesman in the WHL, CIS, MJHL, MMJHL. Mahoney is a Level 5 official who lines WHL, CIS, along with reffing in the MJHL, KJHL, MMJHL & Midget AAA. Both officials have been influential in giving back to the Hockey Manitoba Officials program as clinic instructors and mentors within the branch.

This year’s CIS National Championship will be hosted by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and will also feature Canada West Representative – University of Alberta Golden Bears. Sportsnet will have live coverage of the final three games from the 2013 University Cup, including a pair of pool play contests on March 16 and the gold-medal match on March 17.
