March 2012 Volunteers of the Month Lawrence (BR) & Clyne (WS)
Bob Lawrence – Brandon, MB
To say Bob, his wife Laura and three boys Jesse, Cody and Tanner like hockey is akin to saying Sidney Crosby is an “okay” centreman. The Lawrence family have not had a weekend or even more than one night away from hockey these past 7 months.
Bob played minor hockey in Brandon. He started coaching 10 years ago and has not looked back. Bob‘s patience and understanding of the game make him a great coach. Bob has coached teams from Initiation, Novice, Atom B, Atom A, Atom AA, Pee Wee AA, through to the Bantam A level. He has his IP, Coach, Safety, Speak Out and Development 1 certification. As recent as last season, Bob was involved with 4 teams.
Since 2007 Bob has been a member of the Hockey Brandon Executive. He has served as 1st Vice-President since coming on board 5 years ago. He has been a great asset to the Board and as a member of Hockey Brandon.
Hockey Manitoba and Hockey Brandon congratulate Bob Lawrence as one of the March 2012 Volunteers of the Month.
Wayne Clyne – Boissevain, MB (Westman South)
Wayne devoted most of the past winter to coaching the Boissevain Atom boys and Peewee girls hockey teams. He has also coached at the Initiation and Novice levels over the years, and has achieved his IP, Coach Level, Safety and Respect in Sport Certification. In addition Wayne has been the driving force behind the local Breakfast Club, a program designed to give kids additional ice time to develop their skills while also eating a nutritional breakfast before school.
As is the case with many of our great volunteers, Wayne also finds the time to be involved with his local association, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Boissevain Minor Hockey.
Hockey Manitoba and the Westman South region congratulate Wayne Clyne as one of the March 2012 Volunteers of the Month.
The Volunteer of the Month award is presented by Awards & More, official partner of Hockey Manitoba.
