PATRICK NAMED WHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Brandon Wheat Kings forward Nolan Patrick is the WHL Player of the Month for April 2016.

Patrick, a 17-year-old from Winnipeg, MB amassed 21 points (8g-13a) to go along with an impressive plus-13 rating in 12 post-season games played during the month of April. Patrick recorded multiple-point outings on six occasions, including three instances in which he collected at least four points to help propel the Wheat Kings to the 2016 WHL Championship Series.

Patrick’s performance in April saw him collect two first star honours as the Wheat Kings collected victories in 10 of their 12 post-season games played in April. The 2014-15 WHL Rookie of the Year’s efforts helped the Wheat Kings advance to the WHL Championship for the second straight year. Patrick notched his first career post-season hat-trick as part of a five point outing in the Wheat Kings series-clinching victory over the Rebels in Game 5 of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship on April 29th.

The 6’3, 195 lb forward finished fifth in scoring amongst all WHL skaters with 102 points (41g-61a) to go along with a plus-51 rating in 72 games played. Patrick is in his second season with Brandon and has amassed 159 points (72g-87a) along with a plus-60 rating in 130 career regular season contests.  Furthermore, Patrick has recorded 39 points (18g-21a) in 44 career post-season games.

Patrick’s accomplishments make him a deserving choice as the WHL Player of the Month for April.
