Finally, Brooks kick-started the 2017 portion of the slate by tallying three points (1G-2A) in a 7-2 win versus Prince Albert on Sunday, January 1, earning first star honours.

The 20-year-old Brooks currently leads the WHL in scoring with 63 points (21G-42) in 29 games. This marks the second time Brooks has been recognized as WHL Player of the Week.
