Seven Manitobans ranked by CSS for 2010 NHL Entry Draft
NHL Central Scouting Service, on Monday, released their Mid-Term Rankings of 2010 Draft-Eligible players. Seven Manitobans have been listed in the the North American Skaters Rankings.
Seattle Thunderbirds’ netminder Calvin Pickard (Winnipeg) is the top-ranked North American goaltender in NHL Central Scouting’s mid-term rankings. Pickard, 17, has appeared in 37 games for the T-Birds this season, and boasts the WHL’s third-best save percentage at .922. Pickard’s older brother, Chet, was a first-round NHL draft pick of the Nashville predators in 2008 and enjoyed a stellar career with the WHL’s Tri-City Americans.

- Brooks Macek (Winnipeg), F, Tri-City Americans – 101st NA Skaters
- Brendan O’Donnell, F, Winnipeg South Blues – 195th NA Skaters
Six of the seven Manitoban players listed were on the 2009 Team West roster; Pickard, McIlrath, Howden, Stone, Stoykewych,and Macek.
The 2010 NHL Entry Draft takes place on June 25-26th in Los Angeles at the Staples Cener.
