In early January, the St. James Canadians Female Midget AA team was shocked to learn that one of their own was diagnosed with cancer. This brought an abrupt end to seventeen year old Darci Instance’s season. On February 9th, Darci underwent surgery and now awaits further treatments.

Since that time, Darci and the Canadians have been overwhelmed by good wishes and support from the hockey community and general public. On behalf of Darci and her team, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Head Coach Mike Dotoli and all members of the St. Vital Victorias, Head Coach Roger Fraser and all members of the Pembina Trail Twins, and any other player, coach or parent for their gifts of support for Darci. I know that Darci, her family and all members of our team have gained comfort and support from your kind thoughts.

Gerry Minaker
Head Coach, St. James Canadians
