WINNIPEG – Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce the leadership group for U-16 Team Manitoba. Carson Lambos (Winnipeg, MB) will captain Team MB at the 2019 Canada Winter Games taking place from February 15 – 22 in Red Deer, AB.

Lambos is currently playing with the RHA Nationals (PREP) and was drafted in the 1st round (2nd overall) by the Kootenay ICE in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. Carson has already dressed five (5) games for the Kootenay ICE and scored his 1st WHL goal playing in a game against the Brandon Wheat Kings where his older brother, Jonathon Lambos, plays.

Serving as assistant captains will be Eric Alarie (Winnipeg, MB), Aidan Brook (Roblin, MB) & Grady Lane (Virden, MB). Alarie is currently playing with the RHA Nationals (PREP) and was drafted in the 1st round (22nd overall) by the Moose Jaw Warriors in the 2018 Bantam Draft.  Brook is currently playing with the RHA Nationals (Elite 15) and was drafted in the 4th round (76th overall) by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2018 Bantam Draft. Lane is currently playing with the Southwest Cougars (MMHL) and was drafted in the 8th round (156th overall) by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2018 Bantam Draft.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games is set to start with the Opening Ceremonies February 15th in Red Deer, AB. Team Manitoba’s first game will be on February 16th at 4:00PM (MT) when they take on Team BC.
