THE PAS HUSKIES WIN THE GOOD DEEDS CUP
WINNIPEG – The Pas Huskies Peewee Second Team has been announced as the Good Deeds Cup Champions. The Pas Huskies (players from The Pas, Opaskwayak & Moose Lake) set up a team building community event in December to assist a local homeless shelter, Oscar’s Place. From this experience the team and families made arrangements to gather donated food from local families and businesses, and prepare/serve a meal at the shelter. Before they served the meal, they heard of the Good Deeds Cup and decided to submit a video of the team doing a “good deed” in hopes of winning some money for the shelter.
Winning the Good Deeds Cup saw The Pas Huskies receive:
- $15,000 for the charity of its choice (Oscar’s Place)
- Hockey Canada/Chevrolet branded swag
- Good Deeds Cup winners ceremony in The Pas
- One-minute feature on television
- Summer practice with a Chevrolet Hockey Ambassador
The second season of the program was announced by Chevrolet and hockey Canada in November 2017, which searches for the Peewee team that makes the biggest impact in it’s community.
