“We’re extremely proud to have this tremendous opportunity to play host to the National Junior A Championship,” say Kit and Randy Daley, co-chairs of the 2010 RBC Cup.

The Daleys add that they’re please with the support the event has received from the City of Dauphin and the rural municipality, Dauphin Recreation Services, local MLA Stan Struthers, Hockey Manitoba, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and Hockey Canada.

“We look forward to a busy and productive year to come and encourage everyone to get caught up in the Spirit of the Game,” say the Daleys.

The 2010 RBC Cup will include the host Dauphin Kings, along with four regional teams that will be determined during league playoffs in spring 2010. Dauphin Kings president Darren Russell says he’s looking forward to a great 2009-10 season, culminating with the RBC Cup.

“Summer will soon pass and we will drop the puck on the 2009-2010 season,” says Russell. “We hope everyone will take the time to experience the excitement of Dauphin Kings home games and join us on the road to the 2010 RBC Cup. We appreciate everyone’s support and encourage you to come back and join us again and again.”

“Hockey fans in Dauphin should expect to see some of the best Junior A hockey around,” says Scott Smith, Hockey Canada’s chief operating officer. “This tournament continues to grow and we’re looking forward to a wonderful week next year in Dauphin.”
